FIRST STEPS TO BEGIN

• Identify and convince minimum of 40% of your classmates who are willing to participate voluntarily.
• Select the two Co-Ordinators for your class by next couple of days. Get the Application signed from everyone who wants to be part of it and fill the online form. If you need time to get signatures, it is fine. You will need to get signatures from everyone by the end of First Week of the Competition.
• The first task will be to identify 3 goals that you want to achieve within this Best Class iteration. More details about this will be shared with your Co-Ordinators shortly.
• Every class can have its own interpretation for the criteria and decide how they want to act upon it accordingly. They can have the initiatives designed as per the group wish. There will be judging points which will be evaluated based on each of the factors and goals met.
• Few suggestions will be provided from our end. The goals needs to be identified. These are critical for self-evaluation, PoC evaluation as well as judged by the organizers.

ROUGH TIMELINE

• Feb 05, 2023:  Roll out the Application Forms
• Feb 10, 2023:  Last Date to Register
• Feb 11, 2023:  Start of the event (after Goals submitted by each class)
• Feb 18, 2023: Report submission (There will be Weekly Report Submissions along with Monthly Progress Updates)
• Apr 08, 2023: Final Report/Submission with Self Evaluation
• Apr 23, 2023: Judges evaluation along with Teachers input
• Apr last week/May first week: Award Ceremony

CRITERIA AND PoC

• Three Categories for Criteria have been decided:
  • Communication & Soft Skills (Activities within classes; Effective Communication -Writing & Speaking; Attitude;
    Time Management)
  • Academics & Technical (Attendance; Internals Scores/ Class Percentile; Online Courses; Innovation/ Projects/ Technical Seminars within class)
  • Volunteering & Participation (Helping hands in college or hostel events/activities; Participating in events -inside & outside college; Extra Circular activities – Sports, Cultural etc; Campus Cleanliness & Brand UVCE)
• Based on the feedback, we have modified the concept of Point of contact (PoC) a little bit. There will be one mentor (4th year senior) and one alumni assigned as a PoC to each class. You can reach out for any queries/help to them. There will be couple of Best Class Mentors (apart from the PoCs) for all the classes together who can be reached out for any concerns as well. More details will be shared with the Co-Ordinators of each class shortly.

Know About the Previous Iterations of Best Class

4 iterations have happened so far and more than 50 classes have participated in the “Social Experiment”. There has been a gap from past 2 years, due to which there are some concerns.
